John Loury is a Partner and Managing Director of Insero’s Analytics + AI practice, where he and his team help organizations turn data, analytics, and AI into strategies that improve decision-making and business performance.

John has 20 years of experience working at the intersection of business strategy and technology, spanning a range of organizations, industries, and markets. In 2015, he co-founded Cause + Effect Strategy in Rochester and served as its President, helping grow the company into an award-winning data, analytics, and AI services firm serving organizations ranging from growing businesses and nonprofits to publicly traded companies. Cause + Effect was named to the 2026 Inc. 5000 following 135% three-year revenue growth and ranked No. 90 nationally among AI + Data firms. In August 2026, Cause + Effect Strategy was acquired by Insero, bringing its data, analytics, and AI capabilities together with Insero’s accounting, finance, and advisory expertise.

John works with leaders to identify opportunities where better use of data and technology can create measurable business value. His collaborative approach emphasizes solving clearly defined business problems, building strong data foundations, and using technology to enhance human capabilities.

John is also a frequent speaker on the subjects of entrepreneurship, business strategy, analytics, AI, and the practical application of emerging technology. John grew up in Irondequoit and has long been active in the Rochester community, serving in leadership roles with organizations focused on education, human services, and economic development.
