Michael Giess, CPA, leads Insero’s Audit and Business Advisory Services Group in Rochester, New York. He provides accounting, auditing, and consulting services to both private and public companies, drawing on extensive experience gained through his work at Insero and previously at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mike specializes in technical accounting research and consulting, employee benefit plans, SEC-related matters, and financial reporting. He frequently advises organizations on complex accounting issues, including business combinations, implementation of new accounting standards, equity and debt transactions, and revenue recognition. He also serves as the firm’s subject matter expert for employee benefit plans, providing guidance on plan audits and the regulatory requirements governing benefit plans.
Mike has significant experience serving clients in the manufacturing, service, retail, and wholesale/distribution industries. He is known for helping organizations navigate complex accounting challenges while delivering practical, business-focused solutions.
